About Meso Wellness
Hi, I'm Erin Glassman, PA-C
I’ve spent 14 years as a Physician Assistant. I’ve worked emergency rooms, urgent care, and for the last four years I’ve focused on urology — caring primarily for women navigating overactive bladder, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, and recurrent urinary tract infections. I’ve seen, up close, how consistently women are under-examined, under-treated, and under-believed by the healthcare system.
But the moment this became personal — the moment I knew I had to do something about it — started long before my own career did.

When It Became Personal
I watched my mother be denied treatment. She was a CRNA. A single mother raising three daughters. Competent, capable, unstoppable — until perimenopause hit and her hot flashes came every two hours, relentless enough to destroy her sleep night after night. The sleep deprivation triggered migraines. The migraines were so frequent and severe she needed intermittent FMLA leave just to keep her job.
When she asked for hormone therapy, she was told no — her hypertension made her an unsuitable candidate, full stop. What she was offered instead was Effexor. An antidepressant. For hot flashes. Not because it was the right answer, but because it was the only answer anyone was willing to give her. She suffered for years — not because nothing could be done, but because the system decided her options before she ever had a real conversation about them.
I didn’t fully put it together until I started experiencing the same things myself.
New onset metabolic changes, rising A1c, unexplained weight gain — despite no changes in my diet or exercise. Heavier periods. Sleep that stopped being restful. And hot flashes mid-shift, slipping out of patient rooms to take off my white coat before I started visibly sweating in front of someone I was supposed to be caring for.
When I asked for help, I was told to take birth control. My body didn’t tolerate it well, and I wasn’t using it for contraception anyway. I was told there were no other options.
There were other options. I just had to find them myself.
Bridging the Gap in Hormone Care
Around the same time, I began seeing male patients in my urology practice and watching how readily hormone therapy was made available to them — evaluated, prescribed, and managed without hesitation. The contrast was impossible to ignore. Women deserve that same standard of care. Women have deserved it for a long time.
It’s worth saying plainly: women weren’t even required to be included in clinical trials until 1993. To this day, there is no FDA-approved testosterone product for women in the United States — despite robust evidence that it helps, and despite the fact that we’ve had one for men for decades. The gap between what women need and what the system offers them is not accidental. It is historical, structural, and overdue for change.
Meso Wellness exists because of my mother. Because of what I went through. Because of every patient I’ve sat with who said “I’ve been trying to tell them something is wrong for years.” Hormones are healthcare. You deserve individualized care, a provider who listens, and a plan built around your body — not a template.
I’m glad you found your way here.
